Everaldo Bispo de Souza, Mestre Lobão, was born on June 7, 1952, in the city of Itabuna-BA. He started doing capoeira in the 1960s in his hometown, training with Mestres Antônio Rodrigues and Luiz Medicina. He came to São Paulo, after the dream of a better life and by recommendation of the esteemed Mestre Medicina, he started training with Mestre Suassuna, in the group Cordão de Ouro where he graduated in the class of 1970.
In São Paulo he met Esdras Filho and Lieutenant Esdras Magalhães – Mestre Damião, together with them, Lobão helped to found the first capoeira academy in Vale do Paraíba in the city of São José dos Campos in 1971 the academy “Besouro Mangangá”. Master of Capoeira for 45 years in the city of São José dos Campos, for being recognized and respected he became a reference for national capoeira.
He participates annually in national and international capoeira events. He has been to countries like the United States, Canada, France, Austria, New Zealand, Belgium, England, Sweden and others; He teaches classes in the Public, Private and also in Universities; He conducts courses, lectures, workshops and has already taken capoeira to national cinema, acting in 3 films.
As a great supporter of national capoeira, with creativity and competence, over these 45 years Mestre Lobão has been overcoming the challenges of living capoeira. But with his work, he achieves conquests every day that give meaning and meaning to the capoeira that made him a master.
In his life trajectory as a capoeirista in addition to being a pioneer with the Academia de Capoeira Besouro Mangangá in São José dos Campos and a master of capoeira, Everaldo Bispo also holds a degree in Physical Education and a Postgraduate Degree in Sports Training. By always believing in education and in the need for learning, Everaldo Bispo de Souza built a solid formation as a professional and, like Mestre Lobão, he managed to make his art of practicing and experiencing capoeira a life story.
