Before Mestre Paulo Siqueira founded the group Capoeira Angola Nzinga in Germany, he learned Capoeira in Brazil with Mestre Adilson (Camisa preta). At the beginning of the 1980s he came to Germany to teach Capoeira, to convey his culture and to maintain the tradition of Capoeira. He was one of the first to bring Capoeira to Europe and make it known. Nevertheless, he never lost the roots of his origins.
He founded the group “ Escola de Capoeira Nzinga ” in Hamburg, Hanover and Kiel and continues to teach regularly in all three cities.
In 1987 Paulo Siqueira initiated the Capoeira Summer Meeting in Germany. The 7-day encounter was one of the longest Capoeira meetings in Europe. With 300 participants it was the largest Capoeira event outside of Brazil and one of the first in Europe. At the end of the event there was a Capoeira performance in the “factory” in Hamburg where up to 600 participants were present.
