We're an incorporated not-for-profit association created to teach and disseminate the Afro-Brazilian art-form of Capoeira. We're a part of Group Beribazu, founded in Brazil in 1972.
Our group started its activities in Australia in 2011 where it is represented by our Brazilian and Group Beribazu qualified instructors, Contra-Mestre Pequeno (Paulo Vinicius) and Monitora Déia (Andréia) who have both 24 and 18 years of Capoeira practice respectively. Their work is supervised by Mestre Falcão, who is based in Brazil but who travels to Brisbane frequently to attend gradings and share his knowledge with our group here.
Pequeno started playing capoeira in 1997 in Florianópolis, Brazil, with Mestre Falcão. Despite always being Falcão's student, Pequeno is also very thankful to Jordan Passos (Mestre Dan) with whom he trained and learned a lot.
Déia started training in 2002, in Florianópolis, Brazil, also with Mestre Falcão.
We're a Bronze Member of Martial Arts Australia, which is the Peak Industry Body that supports martial arts instructors and schools in Australia.
